Description
Supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Vitamin C contributes to the normal formation of collagen, to the normal function of blood vessels, cartilage, skin, bones and teeth. Niacin contributes to the maintenance of normal skin. Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity.
Ornithine: ornithine is an amino acid. It is one of the products of the arginase enzyme on L-arginine, which creates ornithine and urea. Ornithine is therefore a fundamental product of the urea cycle, which allows the elimination of excess nitrogen.
Glycine: non-essential amino acid that is part of the constitution of many proteins present in muscles and tendons, it is a precursor, together with other substances, of several important molecules of our body including: glutathione, creatine and growth hormone (GH).
Arginine: conditionally essential amino acid for the body, in which it is present in large quantities, because it intervenes in numerous fundamental physiological reactions. Arginine assumes considerable importance as a precursor of nitric oxide, citrulline and creatine and is also highly represented in histone proteins.
Glutamine: it is the amino acid most present in the body, its synthesis occurs mainly in muscle tissue, starting from the amino acids arginine, ornithine and proline. Glutamine is involved in numerous biochemical processes and is especially important in the disposal cycle of the amino group of amino acids.
Lysine: essential amino acid, and together with methionine in the kidney and liver it is a precursor of L-carnitine, an important methylamine that acts as a transport carrier for fatty acids, favoring their entry into the mitochondrial level where they are degraded by beta – oxidation for energy purposes. In its hydroxylated form it is part of the composition of collagen, the fibrous protein that makes up bones, cartilages and other connective tissues. Lysine is also important as a precursor to an important vitamin, niacin, better known as vitamin B3 or PP. Lysine is mainly present in meat (red meat, pork, poultry), cheese, some fish (cod and sardines), soy and legumes in general, but is scarcely present in cereals.
Tyrosine: non-essential amino acid, it is important as a precursor of various hormones, such as thyroid hormones (thyroxine). It intervenes in protein synthesis and is therefore present in most of the body's protein structures. Furthermore, tyrosine is the essential amino acid for the synthesis of important neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline.
Ornithine a-ketoglutarate: it is a salt resulting from the combination of two units of ornithine and a molecule of a-ketoglutarate (AKG). In our body, ornithine is synthesized starting from arginine, while a-ketoglutarate derives from the deamination of glutamine.
Vitamin C: known for its antioxidant properties, it is able to support the organic defenses. Promotes the formation of collagen for the physiological formation of cartilage and skin. It increases the absorption of iron.
Vitamin B3: Vitamin B3, or niacin, is useful for promoting the functionality of the nervous system, energy metabolism, and also helps maintain normal mucous membranes and skin.
Vitamin B6: contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity.
