Product description:
The Braun ThermoScan® 7 thermometer is one of the latest innovations in the Braun range of thermometers. Equipped with the new Age Precision technology, it guides you to measure the fever based on age and completely eliminates the uncertainties in the interpretation of the child's temperature
How to use:
Braun ThermoScan measures the infrared heat emitted by the tympanic membrane and surrounding tissues. To avoid inaccurate temperature measurements, the probe tip is preheated to a temperature similar to that of the human body.
When Braun ThermoScan is placed in the ear, the device continuously monitors infrared energy. The measurement ends and the result is displayed when the thermometer finds an accurate temperature measurement.
The goal of a thermometer is to measure the internal body temperature, that is, the temperature of the vital organs. The temperatures detected in the ear accurately reflect the internal body temperature, since the tympanic membrane shares the same blood supply as the temperature control center located in the brain3, the hypothalamus.
For this reason, changes in body temperature are reflected more quickly in the ear than at other sites.
Axillary temperature detects skin temperature and therefore may not be an accurate indicator of core body temperature. Oral temperature is often influenced by the intake of food, drink and breathing through the mouth.
Rectal temperature often does not keep pace with changes in core body temperature and this method poses the risk of cross-contamination.
How to use Braun ThermoScan: Remove the thermometer from its protective case. Remove the protective cap. Press the power button.
In internal verification the display shows all segments. Then, the last temperature detected is displayed for 5 seconds. The lens fi lter indicator flashes to signal the need to insert a filter.
For accurate measurements, be sure to insert a new and clean filter before each measurement. Insert a new lens cap by pushing the thermometer probe directly into the lens filter inside the box and then pulling it out.
To proceed with the measurement, select an age. Firmly insert the probe into the ear canal then press and release the trigger button.
The ExacTemp indicator light flashes during the temperature measurement process. The indicator light stays solid for 3 seconds to indicate that an accurate measurement has been taken.
