Description
Contour Next 50
CE class IIb medical device. CE certification n LRQ 400 3509 / B.
Use the Contour Next test strips with Bayer's Contour Next USB meter for blood glucose monitoring.
Contour Next test strips have been developed on the basis of a recent technology (the sensor electrode).
They use a small amount of blood (0,6 & mu, L) which is automatically aspirated by capillarity, within the reactive end of the strip: after a 5-second countdown, the display automatically shows the concentration of glucose present in the test sample. blood.
The glucose in the blood sample reacts with the FAD glucose dehydrogenase (FAD-GDH) enzyme and the mediator, generating an electron flow that produces a current proportional to the glucose concentration in the sample.
Contour Next strips allow the determination of glucose in both capillary whole blood and venous blood.
The results obtained are comparable with the methods of analysis that use plasma / serum and are not significantly influenced by the matocrit (in the range 0-70%).
Reducing substances normally present in the blood (uric acid, bilirubin) or deriving from pharmacological treatments (ascorbic acid, paracetamol) do not significantly affect the results.
Test strips for blood glucose measurement and compatible with the following glucose meters:
– ContourNext One
– ContourXT
– ContourNext Link
– ContourNext Link 2.4
Diabetes is a metabolic disease caused by a decrease in the activity of insulin, a hormone produced in the beta cells of the pancreas. A clinical feature of diabetes is hyperglycemia resulting from the aforementioned changes in insulin.
In particular, diabetes can be due to:
– A reduced availability of insulin, that is, there is, less insulin than the body would need for its proper functioning.
– An impediment to the normal action of insulin, that is, insulin is present, but the body is unable to make good use of it.
– A combination of the two aforementioned factors, that is, insulin is low, and does not work adequately.
Glucose is a type of sugar found in the blood. Blood glucose monitoring is part of general diabetes therapy, as it allows you to know the amount of glucose present in the blood at a precise moment. Blood glucose levels change as a result of a number of factors.
The tests allow you to determine if your treatment plan – your diet, medications and exercise – is effective in controlling your blood sugar level.
Main features of test strips:
Automatic Coding Technology: no coding required
Suction with Sip-in Sampling technology to facilitate the filling of the strip
Blood sample volume (0.6ul)
Insufficient sample reporting
Second-Chance sampling technology: possibility to reapply the drop of blood on the same strip
Not affected by many common interfering substances including oxygen, maltose and galactose *
Enzymatic chemistry of the strip: FAD-GDH
Hematocrit range: 0-70%
Possibility to use the test strips up to 24 months from the production date even after opening the package (under normal storage conditions)
Indication:
Using the Contour Next test strips and the Microlet 2 lancing device, Bayer's Contour Next USB meter makes it easy to perform a blood glucose test.
Bayer's Contour Next control solution can also be used to perform a control test.
How to use:
Insert a test strip. Remove a Contour Next test strip from the flaocne. Hold the test strip with the long, gray end facing the meter.
Insert the square gray end of the test strip into the test strip opening until you hear a beep.
The 'Draw Blood' screen appears and the meter is ready to test with a drop of blood.
Leave your arm at your side and shake it lightly to draw the blood to your fingertips. Place the Microlet 2 lancing device firmly on the area to be licked and press the blue release button to get a drop of blood.
Follow the user manual for further instructions on measuring blood glucose.
